The refugee problem in Western Germany 1945-1950 with particular emphasis on Bavaria

There exists in the United States an Almost total ignorance regarding the existence of a serious refugee problem in Western Germany. The citizens of the nation such as the United States should have received abundant information concerning a problem such as the one discussed in this paper a problem involving the forced transfer of some 12,000,000 persons- yet for some reason, the press of the United States has neglected this problem almost entirely. When told that the largest population transfer in history occurred in Europe between 1945 and 1950 the average American is either incredulous or inclined to reject the statement completely. The authors himself was amazed to find the foremost difficulty encountered by western Germany as a whole himself of this fact, forthwith determined to compile and analyze as much information as possible concerning this problem.
