Cellular plastic patterns for aluminum sand casting: an experimental study

The purpose of this experimental study was three-fold: (1) to determine the characteristics and properties of focused plastics; (2) to experiment with the major foamed plastics in developing patterns for use in the aluminum sand casting processes; and, (3) to evaluate the results of the experiments.
