Smoking habits and attitudes: a comparative study of grades eight and twelve

The purpose of this study is to determine the extent of smoking at the eighth and twelfth grade levels, to determine the beliefs and attitudes held towards smoking, and to identity when instruction on smoking should begin. An attempt will be made to determine why young people start smoking. This will make it possible to plan a program which attempts to give the student accurate information related to smoking enabling him to make a wise decision when confronted with the possibility of initiating this habit.
