Electric utility industry: an analysis of the annual price range

The electric utility industry typically does not possess the speculative growth possibilities found in certain manufacturing and industrial enterprises. This does not mean that the industry is lacking in growth characteristics. Continued and substantial long term growth can be looked forward to with a high degree of confidence. Generally speaking, however, the benefits of this growth in terms of increasing per share earnings for the common stock will be moderate. "Despite this, however, the recurrent tendency of market prices to deviate, sometimes widely, from reasonable investment values presents with interesting frequency investment opportunities for both advantageous buying and profitable selling." "Buy low and sell high," is a phrase commonly heard among investors. The determination of these high and low prices would greatly enhance an investor's ability to profitably time his transactions.
