California State University, Fresno’s student population continues to rise. While the campus population will continue to grow, the land available to this population will largely remain more or less constant. As a result it will be necessary for future construction to build vertically. The proposed University Student Union will therefore be allocated three floors and a basement. The proposed construction will include an outdoor terrace, a food court with healthy eating options, and ample dynamic meeting spaces which will seek to provide future students with an environment which will propel them to success and instill pride in their University. The scope of our Senior Design Project as Civil Engineering students would be to prepare plans which would meet these goals with consideration paid to sustainable development practices.
